Flannery Alden was the first person to comment on this blog that I didn't know personally. Her blog is called "Prone To Whimsy" - something I consider myself to be as well. Flannery and her husband Doc hosted me for a night while on an east coast road trip. They introduced me to their friends, showed me around Canton, OH (home of the Football Hall of Fame), gave me a free bed, and even sent me on my way with a belly full of french toast (and a mild hangover). Like me, Flannery doesn't post as often as she once did, but thanks to Google Reader, I never miss a new post. I'll probably use the word "genuine" a lot during this series, but it really does describe Flann and her family. Them's good people.

I was lucky enough to meet Flannery when she came to my town on business. She nicer than you'd imagine and cuter than anything.
Aw, shucks! This is really the sweetest thing. I'm enjoying reading about everybody, Chris!
One of my favourite people in the blog world, even if I don't tell her enough!
Indeed, good people. Flannery is my professional unpaid prodder. Or nudger. She tells me when there are things online that I need to read. I first met her through "The Unofficial" (Grant Miller's former nemesis.) Her writing kicks ass, and I got to meet her in person in NYC.
I love her Lucy stories and all the famous people she's met in her dreams.
Flannery is one of those rare bloggers who, after you've read her, you'd run up and hug her on first meet because you just *know* her. I'm happily envious of her wonderful family.
