Me grammas were Martha & Ella. Me great-grandma was Ida. Me mum is Shirley & her sisters who are all in their 70s now had some great names: Ruth, Betty, Goody (real name Pauline), Mildrid & Phyllis

My grandmother was Thelma and my ggrandmother was Bertha. (mom's side)
Dad's side was: grandmother was Jessie, which I like and ggrandmother was Katherine which I also like.

You just reminded me of this great poem I read once that lamented the loss of names like these. It was awesome. I think I saved it somewhere.

My Grandma's were Norma and Doris. My Great Grandma's were Mary, Winnifred, Mildred and Elizabeth.
You know, Mexican girls frequently have old lady names. I have had students named Edith, Eunice, Doris, and Alma.

Krista's Grandmother was named "Millicent." But everybody called her "Millie." I thought it was a pretty good name for a grandmother.
