"A Charlie Brown Christmas" was on last night. I get a lot of pleasure watching them do their group dance. There is something so comically joyful about it. I can't decide which one is my favorite. Let's start at the top and go around clockwise:
- Shermy doing a zombie sleepwalk.
- Linus and Sally doing a modified hustle.
- The twins doing their oppo-synchronized head-bob (helped save on illustration costs).
- The spiky-haired kid doing a hunchback precursor to the stationary moonwalk.
- Violet (wearing green) doing a very focused tai-chi movement.
- Freida (wearing violet) doing what appears to be the hully-gully.

This is my favorite Christmas moment Chris, I just love this every time I see it. I played Linus in the play way back when... just after the bronze age I believe...
I was thinking exactly the same things while watching last night! We were huddled under blankets, the whole family, watching our favorite. Somehow planning for it on TV is better than owning the DVD.
I was digging Violet last night. Each year someone else's dance appeals to me.
Think Schultz (him, his family, his trust, his cat, whatever) is getting royalties for this thing? It's been on for something like 326 years.
We watched this last night. I realized, aside from the music I hate this program.
Then again I hate just about every program.
But Zingers are (were) pretty good.
too true about the commercials thing. I am sure he is weeping.
I can't see the vid here at work but there is one kid whose boogie cracks me up so hard that every year I end up dancing in the living room all by myself trying to mimic his moves.
I was at a club for a friend's birthday recently and the people dancing looked just like the peanuts kids. Heads swaying back & forth, zombie walk, modified hustle, tai chi move, the whole works.
I'd had a few, so I couldn't quit staring and giggling. The gal next to me asked why I was laughing and I said, "four words: Charlie Brown Christmas Special." She looked and laughed, and shared it with the guy next to her and so on. Next thing I knew there were about 20 of us staring at the people dancing and just busting out laughing.
Then the dancers started to get self-conscious, and then the song ended and they left the dance floor, glancing awkwardly in our direction.
Oops. Hope I didn't spoil their holiday spirit.
Cameron, Morgan, and LegalMist: Welcome! (I'm not sure if I gave any of you a proper welcome before, but I will again to fully cover my bases.)
LOVE IT!!!! :-)
That spiky haired kid has the best dance ever.
What worries me is that you know all those dance moves...
Those kids are getting down with their bad self-goddamn!
Love ALL the dances--new one appeals to me each year. This year, gotta go with Shermy's zombie walk. Awesome.
And MNMom is so right--it's not the same when you have it on DVD. You gotta watch for it on broadcast TV.
