I Don't Enjoy Mowing The Lawn...

There. I said it.

You see, a lot of people have a romanticized vision of lawn mowing, like in the picture above. They talk about the joy of being outside, enjoying nature. They talk about the alluring fragrance of the fresh-cut clippings and the regal beauty of a painstakingly manicured lawn.

It's all bogus. Mowing the lawn is a sweaty, noisy pain in the ass and you know it.

I dunno, if you're in a house full of screaming toddlers, the roar of a lawnmower can almost sound pleasant.

Maybe you should try doing it wearing tassel loafers, then having Megan bring you beer wearing hot pants.

I'm with Splotchy on this one.

That's why I make my kids do it.

I love it, being all hot and itchy from the grass blowing around me and sneezing my ass off! What could be better? Perhaps running my knuckles along the cheese grater...

I have to start wearing a mask when I do it. It kicks up my allergies, throws dirt and other junk in my face and is just overall nasty!

mmmmmmmm,.....I have a yummy lawn guy mow ours. He has been mowing the lawn for 17 years now. I have him trim the bushes and trees, edge, mulch, do spring and fall clean up. G Man never ever sees the bill or else all this eye candy.... I mean lawn stuff would end. Some things are just worth the price.

Worse than cutting the lawn is cleaning up the dog turds first.

I must say, i LOVE that old lawnmower pic. That is cool.

Of course, I wouldn't want one...

... and I must say, what a resourceful little lady to be able to craft such a nice blouse out of a table cloth.

I gave that up months ago.

One of the best reasons for living on the desert is that having gravel for a lawn is actually considered beautiful!

I have spent most of my life on the business end of a lawnmower or a shovel. There is no way to put a happy spin of this annoying chore. I now live next door to a landscaper and sometimes I can talk him into using his BIG mower. I takes him 15 minutes. If I do it with my push mower it takes 4 1/2 hours. Screws a whole day.

my dad would literally take 3-4 hours to mow our grass when I was a kid. Talk about wasting 1/2 of the 2 days you've got off of work.

When we get to El Casa Del Naranja Grande, we're paying some neighbourhood kid $10 to do it.

DOC: a PUSH mower? there's 95% of the problem right there...

SPLOTCHY: now that i reread the commy-ents, that's a good point...

He's been at it 17 years Cheer34? That's one mofo of a lawn!

I only mow the lawn for the satisfaction of waking up my neighbours over in Dogpatch who never cut theirs.
