A Few Questions For You Beta Bloggers...

I just made the leap to Beta. I can see a few problems:

  • Why are a bunch of the commenters showing up as Anonymous and is there anything I can do to change this? It's going to be EXTREMELY annoying to not know who is leaving which comment.
  • Do I not get to see people's avatars anymore when they comment?
  • Did I just make a huge mistake switching over?
  • Do you hate freedom?
I'm cold and there are wolves after me...

1. Non-Beta users will now need to chose "Other" as an identity and fill in the name they want in the blank. They don't even need a URL. That's simple. Not a problem.
2. Avatars often go missing with the Beta version and I don't know why. I've been so helpful with this one, huh? :)
3. "Did I just make a huge mistake switching over?" Probably. But you can't go back and you'd have to do it sooner or later anyway. It's really not all bad. Just don't let them mess with your design--stay with what you have and used HTML instead of their new "automated" design system. It stinks.
4. I love freedom. Don't let the wolves (or bedbugs) bite.

It's all going to be okay, Chris. Honest.

It took some getting used to for me, but I eventually got the hang of it.

Freedom scares me sometimes... but I like it.

Beta sucks. Is that helpful? giggle....I have written about this three times, but blogger forced us over to the dark side...so - we take what we can get.

I finally paid for my own domain and am going to switch over to it soon.

Blogger beta? Not so much.....

No, no, no. The problems are mostly with your settings.

1. I think non-beta people can just sign in with their regular old blogger account. They've been doing it on my blog for MONTHS.

2. You probably have your comments set not to display pictures. Except there are pictures here so I don't know what the hell you're talking about.

3. Think of it as an adventure.

4. I totally love freedom.

The good news is that now it's SO easy to alphabetize that blogroll!

I did it. I caved into peer pressure after Flann said that it was lovely. Now I've just spent an hour tagging my own shit.

No, I hate Beta... I can't leave comments on my own damn blog. It pisses me off cause I feel like it seems I don't love you cause I do..
