Fun Fact...

I know there are fans of both "The Daily Show" and musical group "They Might Be Giants" that read this blog. Did you know that TMBG wrote the intro music for "The Daily Show"? Neither did I.

I love it when there is crossover between two things I really like.

**Edited to add: Apparently, Bob Mould wrote it, but TMBG performed it. I stand corrected. Thanks to Bryan for pointing this out. See the comments for more...

I have bad news and good news. TMBG didn't write the theme song for The Daily Show. Someone named Bob Mould wrote it. It's called "Dog on Fire".

They did perform it, however -- and here's the good news -- along with all the other incidental music you hear on the show.

If you want to hear an extra long version of the song, check out my TMBG audioblog, Theynow. It's played on the Nov. 3, 2006 episode.

Thanks Bryan for the clarification. I was watching the TMBG documentary last night where they mentioned it and must not have been listening closely. Bob Mould ain't too shabby himself. Yet more neat crossover...

I believe it is TMBG that sing the theme for the Disney pre-school show "Higgly Town Heros" and they had a few music videos between shows when my youngest was a baby but now they got some weirdo that sings about stamping his feet.

I was just jumping in to give Bob Mould his due. The tune is called "Dog on Fire," I believe. But I didn't know that was TMBG performing it; I always assumed it was Mr. Mould.

TMBG, Jon Stewart and Bob Mould, that's a perfect lulu dinner party right there.

I was singing along with Bob this morning on my way to work. 'xrt was playing If I Can't Change Your Mind.

TMBG, seems to be doing alot of theme songs. I alwys seem to be hearing something in their style on my kids TV shows, but when I turn to look, they are gone.....

Circe- Welcome. I agree...
Amy- You are correct.
Phil- The documentary I saw supports what you say. They do a lot of background stuff for people and for kids stuff.
