Time To Start Saving Lives...

Up here in Northern Michigan, we have not been blessed with a white winter. We got some good dumpage at the beginning of December, but thanks to warm weather and rain, that has been reduced to a few rare, sooty plow-pile remnants. Despite this, the area where I ski patrol has notoriously good snowmaking abilities. They crank the shit out like crazy any time there are temps below 28 degrees. The consistency of manmade snow has improved dramatically over the years, to the point where it's hard to tell the difference once it's all groomed out.

So, tomorrow will be my first day on duty for the season. My cold kept me from going today. Let's hope I don't have to use any of that AED training I got in the off-season.

unless it's someone really, REALLY cute-- then you can rip her snowsuit open and lovingly apply the fib-pads and mouth-2-mouth and...

Oh, wait, never mind-- SOMEONE told me you're taken, now... >:-)

AED's are easy to use. They are practically fool-proof.

Statistically, you are more likely to survive a cardiac event after being AED'ed in a public place than having a Code Blue in a hospital.

I think that that picture would be more dramatic with actual snow in the background. Kinda like Surf Patrol having their picture taken in a tree.

I'd love to come skiing. Seeing as I haven't in about 10 years or so, I might possibly be the kind of person who keeps you employed. It's that first lift ride....I always get terrified when I have to get off, some sort of performance anxiety. I haven't fallen yet at that point, but it is always my biggest fear. Can you tell I never really graduated from the intermediate slopes?
