It was recommended that I see "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington". I thought it was excellent. Sure, some of it is a little corny, but much of it is still applicable to today's politics.For some reason I was under the impression that there was a monkey in this movie.

It's funny, we look on this as such a corny and optimistic movie, but it was reviled at the time by politicians and the DC press because they felt it portrayed them in such a negative light.
I just saw this movie two years ago! A monkey in it would've been nice. It was spoofed pretty well on The Simpsons with Mel Gibson.
I heard that if you sloooow it down to frame-by-frame exactly 30.75 minutes into the film you'll see a monkey flicking Jimmy the bird from behind a trash barrel.
