Tupperware Frozen Pops?My mom used to make them out of Tang. Compared to actual Popsicles, they sucked ass.

Crystal Radios?I remember getting a kit for one of these. Imagine, a radio that doesn't require batteries! Unfortunately, when you assembled the fucking thing, you could only faintly hear some station you'd never listen to in the first place.

I totally forgot about those freezer pop containers. We had those growing up, and they always leaked!
The freezer popcicle makers!!! Oh, dear, they never worked, they tasted like plastic and whatever else was in the freezer. I did enjoy chewing on the sticks tho.

I still have those goofy reindeer. The popcicle molds are long gone though.
My son and I just put together one of the crystal radio kits a few weeks ago-- it had been a Christmas present from my father, who remembered putting one together from scratch as a kid. As you pointed out, you could barely hear it, but he was very excited about it anyway.
For Christmas this year, they got him a shortwave band radio, which works just fine.
Did anyone ever get a woodburning kit as a kid? I did. Talk about dangerous and useless gifts.

My brother had a woodburning kit, a rock tumbler and a chemistry set that burnt a hole in the basement floor. Toys were So much better then.

I remember fondly all of those except the crystal radio. I have never even heard of such a thing. maybe they were around when I was still living in the Boondocks of Mississippi.
Slinger- I wish ours had leaked. Then maybe we would've gotten regular popsicles.

Frank- Maybe that's why apple popsicles never caught on.
lulu- I had all three of those things. The rock tumbler could've been cool if I'd had the patience to let it run as long as it should have.

Thanks Christ my mom was too lazy for homemade popsicles. We always favored the freezer pop squeezy plastic tube things anyway.
As a child, there was something satisfying to me about chewing on plastic/rubber. You should see my Barbie dolls' feet.
