I fucking love Euchre.
It is a brilliant game.
It's so simple, yet filled with tons of little nuances and strategies.
One of the things I miss about Chicago is getting together
with friends to play Euchre.
It is one of the few card games I don't mind
teaching people who have never played.

I love euchre also, what a great character... "Mr. Baseball!"
"Good seats, huh buddy?"
Oh wait, you are talking about something else, never mind...
I appreciate the sharing.
dude...get down here to and lets get a game going.....heavy drinking, a cloudy room and Euchre.....there's nothing like it!
I've attempted to learn several times (once at Guido's bachelor party) and find the game completely incomprehensible. Which, I assume, is part of the appeal for those that know how to play.
I'll bet I could make you hate teaching that game to someone. For some reason the part of the brain that understands card games is missing from my brain.
O.K., maybe it's just the beer.
You would have to teach me. I have limited card game knowledge. Gin/Rummy, War, SlapJack and Go Fish are about it. Someone tried to teach me spades and I'm still clueless.
I used to play when I lived in Michigan but since I moved I forgot how.
I have never learned to play any card games. I probably wouldn't get it. This one I had never heard about.Judging from the other comments, its sounds difficult though. I admire people who can play all kinds of card games so well!
You can spot serious Euchre players by their 52-card decks. Half clean, half dirty.
i love plaing cards -- i am especially fond of pinochle
You know, everyone I know who plays Euchre went to UofI. Why is that?
What? You and your friends stage versions of "The Newlywed Game?"
Oh, Euchre, not Eubanks.
Hubby and I LOVE TO PLAY EUCHRE! It's hard to find anyone that knows the game, though. It's also hard to teach anyone the game, unless they're card-savvy in general. Next time you're in Lancaster PA, give us a call!
Me too Chris!
So much so that I've taught JennyB, SV and a couple others that I hike with how to play so we can play in the tent all night long.
Funny, I have found other midwestern transplants that have been dying to play since they left that part of the country. We even have euchre parties and play until 3am. It's the best game ever.
