Does Anyone Know...

Are the Cubs mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet? I have to admit, I haven't been paying attention.

It wouldn't surprise me if they've somehow managed to get mathematically eliminated from next year's playoffs as well.

Therefore, I win the igorance challenge!! HUAH!!

I am a Cubs fan. My boyfriend Spooney? From Boston. Red Sox fan. Until a few years ago, we were the sorriest fan couple there ever was. Now, not so much. So, all I'm saying is this might be the year for the Cubs. Hey! It might. So shut up! It might.

Wow, I didn't realize we were 6 games out already. Nevermind.

My and Phil's boss at the restaurant, Dan, was telling us that a Cubs management person was telling him that the Cubs were virtually eliminated, statistically, in early May. Seriously.

They are in a terrible division, though they are 6 games out, they are 7 games below .500. So the division leader is below .500. So...yeah, they might win the award for tallest midget.

Phil nailed it. The NL Central division is like the NL West froma few years ago when San Diego won the divison even though they were 1 game under .500.

But the Cubs are falling apart internally, and Michael Barrett is the source of the cancer, in my opinion.
