Sorry about the lack of posts recently. I just got back from a long weekend in Chicago with friends and family. One of my regular stops in Chicago is my friends' restaurant, Club Lago. Longtime friends Guido and GianCarlo own and operate this fine neighborhood joint that specializes in Northern Italian cuisine. It's at the corner of Superior and Orleans.
As a result of my increased internet presence (my blog, MySpace, my porn site), I have reconnected with a number of friends that I'd lost touch with. I didn't go to my 10-year high school reunion. For one thing, small talk is my least favorite type of talk. I can abide any other kind of talk: conservative talk, religious talk, certainly bawdy talk, but not small talk. So I thought it'd be fun to try and round up just the people I was friends with and see who would show. I told them I'd be at Club Lago on the 5th, around 6 pm, and if they could make it - great. If not, no big deal. Well, a bunch showed, even one of our beloved teachers from high school came out. It was great and there was minimal small talk. A lot of people called me by my nickname, "Monkey Balls", which I find funny because of the lack of any good explanation as to how I got it. Thanks to those who came out and I hope to do it again. And for those of you who find yourself in Chicago at some point, be sure to check out the Lago. Tell them Monkey Balls sent you.
