Classic...

I don't usually like to post stuff like this because I figure you'll see it somewhere else, but it's so explanatory that I think anyone who might still be on the fence should see it.

To be honest, I thought the debate was kinda lame. However, when you edit it like this person did, you get to see, plain as day, that Obama is, unlike many politicians, accurately representing the things that John McCain had said about Iraq.

And the problem is there are too many people who don't see it. I ain't saying Obama is the second coming, but come on people.

Yeah but you could do this with EVERY Politician

Very nice, I like it when politicians get to eat their words.

I read a decent amount about Obama and he strikes me as a highly moral and well reasoned person, which is an odd thing to say about a politician in this day and age, but this was the first time I got the chance to hear him speak, other than passing blurbs on tv.

Mind you, I tuned in late and only caught the second half, but the debate seemed more than a little one sided. McCain was dropping names and buzzwords while Obama presented a viable plan. Perhaps I misheard small potions of it as I was watching it with Flannery, Spooky and Cap'n Ergo, who insisted on treating it like a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode and interjected their snide remarks throughout. And I didn't stick around long enough to catch the commentary afterwards, but I put up a small post about it.

Let's just say beer was involved.

I don't understand the tone of your post. You know he was a heroic war hero?

Hey that is great-when you see it like that, it shows the direct contradiction in his statements!

McCain as a hero seems debatable. I don't question his patriotism but what did he do that was heroic?

Yes yes he was a POW -- but is that what defines heroic? Some might consider ground level battlefield - real eye to eye stuff as the place of heroic acts. Countering the enemy, saving comrades, dying or living but giving everything during a flash point.

Seems to me he was following orders, got shot down and then survived, with the aid of other POWs, a terrible-horrible experience.

No doubt he had courage, bravery and conviction but I am not certain about using the word heroic.

And all of that was a long, long time ago.

Today, he's just a tired looking, uncreative, pandering old fool.
