I've got shingles! Yay!Well, not those kinds of shingles,
but I figured I post enough gross shit
on this blog already.
How the hell did this happen?
Apparently, stress can be a factor.
Don't worry. They're not contagious
and they'll eventually go away.
Luckily, they don't hurt too bad.
Yet.

Aren't they contagious? I am pretty sure they are.

The doctor said they're not. Only to people who have never had chicken pox.
Poor some guy - I hear they hurt like *#&*$^#. My Aunt has them, and swears by a shot she got from her friend the VET. Yes, an animal doctor.
They follow nerve paths, right?
I have known a few people who got them, I hope you caught the symptoms soon.
They can be pretty painful, so be careful.

Hope you feel better soon! That sucks. I think that shingles are caused by the same virus that causes chicken pox, and that virus stays dormant in cells once you have it... and shingles is the way that it rears its ugly self up again.

Ouch. I've had shingles a few times, and it's not fun. My kid got chicken pox from someone with shingles, then he gave chicken pox to his dad. Yeah, that was a fun time.
Eat lots of ice cream. It doesn't help your shingles but after your third bowel you don't care.

Did you have chicken pox as a kid?
My son had chicken pox when he was 6 months old. I remember the doc telling me that he has a higher chance of getting the shingles as an adult.

Isn't Shingles just a recurrence of the chicken pox virus?
I knew a guy in high school who was diagnosed with Shingles. He was a wrestler, so, with it being high school and all, he wasn't allowed to wrestle.
He had to sit out most of the season because he kept getting Shingles. And then his mom took him to a different doctor. Turns out, the kid just had bad acne.

but I heard (unfortunately) that you get them again. I just got Chicken Pox a few years ago. People were shocked about it! A 40 some guy (again!?) getting CP?! It was pretty bad-mostly the itching and some of them got infected!
