Sundays Rock! Featuring Big Mama Thornton...

I've been having a lot of fun with this series, mostly because it's the first time I've seen video of the featured artists performing live.  Since I don't want it to seem like men are the only ones capable of rocking, today I give you Big Mama Thornton (in keeping with my string of performers whose names start with "Big").  I don't like to give too much commentary, so enjoy!

I'm sorry about the ad at the beginning of this next one, but it really rocks and is worth it.

Jerry! Goodbye!...

Rest in peace, Len "Uncle Leo" Lesser.

"He's all smooth now.  Kinda like a seal."

It's Only Wednesday, But Fuck It. Let's Rock Anyway! Featuring Big Joe Turner...

If this doesn't get your toes tapping, you have problems. Here's Big Joe performing for a bunch of white kids in the movie, Shake, Rattle & Roll!

Molly McButter was a explosives expert with the Irish Republican Army.

Dude, it's on Wikipedia.  Seriously.

It's Sunday, So Let's Rock! Featuring Big Bill Broonzy...

Big Bill Broonzy is one of my favorite blues artists. This was one of the only YouTube videos I could find of him performing live. Here's another one with some vocals:

Documentary Film Of The Day: The Tillman Story...

I've been waiting patiently for this one to be released on DVD/Netflix because this subject has always been difficult for me to understand (as I'm sure it has been for most people).  After watching it, I still don't feel like I fully comprehend it, but at least I have a better sense of who Pat Tillman was and the kind of utter bullshit his family was put through.  The film is also a reminder of what a scumbag weasel fuck Donald Rumsfeld is.

You can Netflix it HERE.
